great place to build your career. Our more than 700 lawyers serve
clients in virtually every area of the law and every region of the
world, providing each client with an unsurpassed level of legal
expertise. While we are counsel to some of the largest publicly and
privately held corporations and financial institutions in the
United States and throughout the world, we also represent
numerous
start-up companies, foreign governments, private equity firms and
entrepreneurs.
At Paul, Weiss, we believe that practicing law should be both
challenging and enjoyable. As a result, we've maintained a diverse
mix of clients by size, industry and location. Our firm culture
provides our lawyers with a high-energy, engaging environment that
fosters camaraderie and teamwork among lawyers - always with the
understanding that your professional career is of the utmost
importance. We also maintain an informal atmosphere: doors are
almost always open, dress is business casual and first names are
used for everyone. We enjoy each other as colleagues, and often, as
friends.
A Global Presence
The greatest change we've experienced in the last decade has
been the internationalization of our practice - a phenomenon that
has touched every area of the firm. In addition to the high volume
of work we perform in our New York, Washington and Wilmington
offices for foreign clients, we have established ourselves in
Canada, Europe and the Far East with offices in Toronto, London,
Tokyo, Beijing and Hong Kong.
New York: Since the firm's founding, our New
York office has remained our largest, serving as the hub of the
firm's activities. Located in midtown Manhattan, the New York
practice is organized into nine departments: Corporate, Litigation,
Bankruptcy, Entertainment, Employee Benefits & Executive
Compensation, Environmental, Personal Representation, Real Estate
and Taxation.
Washington: Our Washington, D.C. office is a
distinguished practice that is home to powerhouse litigators, trial
lawyers and high-end corporate and communications attorneys. Our
Washington office attorneys are leaders in antitrust litigation, IP
and patent litigation, product liability litigation, securities
enforcement and litigation, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act,
internal investigations, white collar crime, class actions,
appellate matters and communications and technology. The office
provides a full range of legal services through seamless
integration with our firm's extensive global resources and legal
expertise. The team works closely with our New York team and can
bring to bear all the resources of our New York and other offices
when necessary. This collaboration is central to our ability to
deliver stellar results to clients across all their high-risk,
high-value litigation and corporate matters.
Wilmington: Wilmington, Delaware is widely
regarded as the seat of modern U.S. corporate law. Since the office
was founded in 2009, our Wilmington office focuses primarily on
corporate litigation and counseling, which complements the firm's
full-service capabilities offered through its other offices. The
resident partner in Wilmington is a former Vice Chancellor of the
Delaware Court of Chancery, who presided over some of the most
important and precedent-setting matters of corporate law during his
tenure.
Toronto: Located in the center of Toronto's
financial district, our Toronto office practices only U.S. law and
works closely with leading Canadian law firms as appropriate to
provide seamless counsel to our clients. Our Toronto-based lawyers
work with their colleagues in New York to help clients with
cross-border capital markets transactions, M&A, corporate
governance, tax, employee benefits, litigation and arbitration,
antitrust, intellectual property, project finance, restructuring,
FCPA, environmental and other regulatory and compliance issues
across a wide range of industries.
London: Our London office focuses on three of
the firm's core corporate practices, adapted to the European
marketplace, including capital markets transactions involving
European issuers, private equity/private M&A transactions in
Europe and cross-border M&A transactions. The office is an
integral part of the firm's global network, reflecting the
pre-eminent role of London in the world's financial markets.
Greater China - Hong Kong and Beijing:
Paul, Weiss has one of the most dynamic and longstanding practices

Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand and
India.
