Affiliated Managers Group Completes Acquisition of Pantheon Ventures from Russell Investments

On June 30, our client Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. (AMG) announced the completion of the acquisition of Pantheon Ventures, a leading global private fund-of-funds manager, from Russell Investments, a subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. AMG purchased a majority equity interest while the Pantheon management team, who will continue to direct the firm's day-to-day operations, acquired the remaining equity interest. The Paul, Weiss team included corporate partners Rob Goldbaum and Steve Williams, associates Michael Hong, Joceline Park, Rati Ranga and Alex Tolston, and former associate David Jelenko. Partner David Mayo and associate Joy Zhang provided tax advice, and partner Larry Witdorchic and associate Kim Steefel provided employee benefits advice.
