Entry level paralegals at Paul, Weiss are not required to have
prior legal experience. Upon arrival, paralegals participate in a
week of training classes. These classes, interactive in nature and
taught by various senior paralegals, associates and department
managers, equip you to join our paralegal workforce with a firm
foundation of skills.
In addition to our orientation and training program, the
following programs will ensure that you succeed as a paralegal at
Paul, Weiss:
- Paralegal Online Training Database;
- Mentor Program: We pair you with an experienced paralegal to
help you get acquainted with your position at the firm as well as
serve as a point of reference and source of information;
- Continuing Education Classes taught by various departments and
firm professionals; and
- Work under the guidance of a "case contact," a more experienced
paralegal, until you feel confident and comfortable in your
role.
Professional Development
The majority of our paralegals move on to law school after they
leave the firm, and we do our best to ensure that each individual
has a strong foundation in the legal profession.
Some of the ways that we prepare you for future success in the
legal profession include:
- Invitations to private law school panel consortiums throughout
NYC;
- PW alumni programs and networking events;
- LSAT class;
- Law school literature and handouts;
- One-on-one attorney interaction; and
- Support system from peers also applying to law school.
