A partner in the Litigation Department, David W. Brown focuses his practice primarily on securities and intellectual property litigation, regulatory investigations and white collar criminal matters.
Significant representations include:

Wachovia in litigation and regulatory matters arising out of the collapse of the market for auction rate securities and in regulatory matters concerning the valuation of Wachovia’s Evergreen Ultra Short Opportunities Fund

Songwriters and music publishers in a landmark rate-making proceeding to set royalty fees for the reproduction and distribution of musical compositions under Section 115 of the Copyright Act

Two of the largest construction companies in the United States in internal investigations concerning compliance with federal procurement regulations

I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, chief of staff to former Vice President Dick Cheney, on perjury charges in U.S. v. Libby.
In addition, Mr. Brown also maintains an active pro bono practice. His recent pro bono representations include an action on behalf of nine restaurant workers who allege they were paid less than minimum wage. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Harlem Link Charter School.
