An associate in the Communications and Technology Group, Diane C. Gaylor focuses her practice on matters involving the intersection of law and technology.
Ms. Gaylor has experience in a variety of intellectual property areas, including patent litigation. Representative technologies involved have included laser diodes and spindle motors. Ms. Gaylor is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Gaylor also has experience in regulatory and corporate aspects of telecommunications law, with emphasis on matters involving emerging satellite and wireless technologies. She has participated in numerous contract negotiations on behalf of leading worldwide satellite services and media corporations, with emphasis on the procurement and transfer of satellites and launches and the leasing of satellite capacity. She has also provided counsel on global satellite projects to obtain international and U.S. regulatory changes and authorizations, including participation in regulatory and technical working groups of the International Telecommunication Union.
Ms. Gaylor received her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She also earned Ph.D. and S.M. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with research focused on electromagnetic wave theory and electroquasistatics, particularly as applied to biomedical topics. She earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
