A partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Finance Group, Eric
Goodison has over 20 years of experience as a financing lawyer. Mr.
Goodison represents domestic and international clients in their borrowing and lending and other financing transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, structured
financings and
restructurings.
Mr. Goodison’s institutional investing and lending clients include Citigroup, Oak Hill Capital, Oaktree, Wellspring Capital Management, Oak Hill Advisors, Harbinger Capital and CI Capital. He also represents public companies such as Spectrum Brands, Emmis Communications, Interline Brands, and private companies such as Margaritaville Holdings. Mr. Goodison recently represented the Steering Committee of Lenders to CIT in connection with its successful and unprecedented rescue and pre-packaged bankruptcy. Mr. Goodison’s other recent representations include the Ad-Hoc Committee of Trico Marine bondholders.
Mr.
Goodison has been advising clients in the leveraged financing market as it has developed and grown in terms of liquidity, investors and participants in the market, and complexity. Mr.
Goodison has also recently been advising clients across the spectrum of investors and borrowers in dealing with the fallout and opportunities from the unprecedented market turmoil arising from various economic crises.
Mr.
Goodison has significant expertise in structuring, negotiating and consummating leveraged
financings for all types of borrowers across many industries from purely domestic cable companies to multi-national service business with complex global organizational structures. Mr.
Goodison also has significant experience in advising distressed borrowers and investors in their financing needs and opportunities. Additionally, Mr. Goodison has significant expertise in structuring, negotiating, consummating and restructured structured
financings such as
CLOs and CDOs. Mr. Goodison authored an article in
Practical Law Journal’s September 2011 issue on Covenant Lite Loans.
