Description of Program and Relief
Gig Economy Workers Fund
As a result of the impact caused by COVID-19, the New Orleans Business Alliance is offering gig economy workers who have been directly impacted via loss of income potential relief from $500 to $1,000 depending on need.

Dates Available
Effective March 17, 2020 and continuing while the fund has resources. Acceptance of new applications after April 15, 2020, has been temporarily suspended.
Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
Applicants must provide:
1) Proof of residency in Orleans Parish (driver’s license, bill, or bank statement);
2) Proof that greater than or equal to 60% of income is generated via “gig-work” (i.e. rideshare driver, musician, arena worker, etc.);
3) Demonstrated loss of income as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic (bank statements reflecting compromised income for a minimum of seven days post March 9, 2020); and
Applicants are entitled to re-apply after 45 days if they remain eligible.
Workers with full-time employment outside the gig economy are not eligible for relief.
