Corporate partner Jeanette Chan and senior paralegal Bianca Ip published the article "New Rules for Foreign-Invested Partnerships in China," in the April edition of Asian Legal Business. The article discusses the suggestion of a more relaxed regime with regards to the registration and capital contributions of the new Foreign-Invested Partnerships (FIPs) in China, while highlighting other provisions that now impose stricter measures on FIPs. The article notes that overall, promulgation of these new regulations seems to show that China is keen to promote the establishment of FIPs to encourage the formation of private equity funds in the country.
