A partner and co-chair of the Personal Representation Department, John J. O’ Neil concentrates in international and domestic estate planning, trusts and estates administration and related tax work, matrimonial matters including divorce and premarital agreements, private foundations and planning for partnerships and closely held corporations. Additionally, he has extensive experience in representing the development offices of two major medical centers and a large number of family offices. Mr. O’Neil is listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America, and recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the area of Wealth Management by Chambers USA and in Trusts and Estates by The Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. O’Neil belongs to the following professional associations: The Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Committee on Trusts, Estates and Surrogate’s Courts, 1983-85); New York State Bar Association (vice chair, Committee on Taxation, Trusts and Estates Law Section, 1989-95); and the American Bar Association (member: Committee on International Property, Estate and Trust Law, 1983-85; Committee on Special Problems of the Aged, 1983-85; Committee on Special Problems of Executives 1983-85).
