Paul, Weiss Hosts Annual Update on U.S. Legal Developments Affecting Canadian Companies

Matthew W. Abbott, Ariel J. Deckelbaum, Jay Cohen, Kelley A. Cornish, Andrew J. Foley and Edwin S. Maynard have completed their annual seminar series in Canada: "Update on U.S. Legal Developments affecting Canadian Companies." Over 100 clients and contacts attended the seminars held in Montreal and Toronto on January 18 and January 20, which were moderated by Mr. Maynard. Ms. Cornish presented on the cross-border bankruptcy lessons from the AbitibiBowater matter; Mr. Cohen presented on the Terra Firma trial and its implications for cross-border M&A transactions; Mr. Abbott and Mr. Deckelbaum discussed the post-financial crisis deal market; and Mr. Foley presented on SEC developments, in particular, the Dodd-Frank Act and its impact on non-bank Canadian companies.
