Paul, Weiss Wins Immigration Asylum For Gay Man from Belize
On April 5, Paul, Weiss obtained asylum for a gay man from Belize who had been harassed and physically attacked because he was gay. In Belize, police officers refused to assist him when they learned about the homophobic motive for the attack. Because he feared that if he were forced to return to Belize, he would once again be subject to persecution, he filed for asylum and the petition was granted. The Paul, Weiss team included litigation partner Robbie Kaplan, and associates Richard Eisenberg and Ethan Krasnoo.
