Of counsel in the Tax Department, Peter J. Rothenberg’s experience has covered the full range of the firm’s tax practice.  Among the areas in which he has significant experience are the representation of substantial foreign-owned companies in their U.S. and international tax concerns and the creation of investment vehicles (including limited partnerships) for investments in the United States and foreign jurisdictions.  His clients include corporations controlled by Canadian, British, Italian and Japanese interests, as well as several prominent investment funds. Mr. Rothenberg is recognized as a leading tax lawyer by Legal 500.

For six years, Mr. Rothenberg was a member of the Executive Committee of the Section on Taxation of the New York State Bar Association.

Mr. Rothenberg was a summer associate in 1963.  Prior to rejoining the firm permanently, he served as deputy counsel for a Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee and as an Assistant to the General Counsel of the Department of the Army.
