Practice: Personal Representation

Personal Representation

The Paul, Weiss Personal Representation Department addresses our clients’ most personal matters. We understand the unique, sensitive and highly complex nature of the issues that clients entrust to our care. We represent, among others, multigenerational families, entrepreneurs, senior executives of public and private companies, investment bankers, real estate developers, individuals in the performing arts, media and entertainment and individuals, banks and trust companies in carrying out their fiduciary duties. Our Personal Representation Department is highly regarded among our peers and clients, regularly appearing as leading lawyers in Chambers USA, and other publications.

We advise our domestic and international clients on a broad spectrum of their legal needs, including business succession issues, estate and tax planning, lifetime transfers of wealth, trust and estate administration, private foundations, and litigated Surrogate’s Court cases. We handle many of our clients’ tax issues, including controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities. When the circumstances warrant, we work closely with the firm’s other highly regarded departments, drawing on their particular expertise.
