The American Lawyer Names Brad Karp Litigator of the Week

Brad Karp was named "Litigator of the Week" in the November 11 issue of Am Law Litigation Daily in connection with the firm's successful defense of Citigroup in an arbitration brought before the AAA International Centre for Dispute Resolution by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Brad called the win "an extraordinary Paul, Weiss team effort," crediting litigation partners Les Fagen, Jay Cohen, Bruce Birenboim, Dan Toal and Susanna Buergel. Brad is also quoted as saying, "financial institutions do not make a practice of trying multibillion dollar cases." The ADIA arbitration marks the fourth time in five years that Citi opted to try multibillion dollar cases and in each of those cases Citi prevailed under Paul, Weiss's counsel. Brad notes that our winning track record "enables us to negotiate highly favorable settlements on behalf of our clients with the plaintiffs' bar."
