Michele Hirshman Participates in “First Monday in October”

The Office of the Appellate Defender, a non-profit law firm dedicated to providing high quality client-centered representation to indigent persons appealing felony convictions, hosted its annual First Monday in October, a mock U.S. Supreme Court argument. The case argued was Elonisv. United States, an examination of free speech in the Internet era. Litigation partner Michele Hirshman argued as counsel for the petitioner and was honored with the Milton S. Gould Award for Outstanding Advocacy. Associate Paula Viola was also on the argument team. The event, held at New York University School of Law, was attended by many of New York's most prominent attorneys, judges, and government officials.
