February 26, 2014 read the article

Litigation partners Martin Flumenbaum and Brad Karp's Second Circuit Review column appeared in the February 26 issue of the New York Law Journal. The article "'Brady'-Based Section 1983 Claims After Guilty Plea," discusses Poventud v. City of New York, in which the court, sitting en banc, considered whether a plaintiff whose initial conviction was tainted by disclosure violations under Brady v. Maryland could pursue a
42 U.S.C. §1983 claim despite having pleaded guilty to lesser offenses in a second trial. Litigation associate Austin Thompson assisted in the preparation of this column.
