Micah McOwen Honored for Pro Bono Work by NYLAG

On July 15, real estate associate Micah McOwen was honored by the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) as a 2014 Outstanding Pro Bono Honoree for his commitment to pro bono legal service at NYLAG's Pro Bono Celebration. Micah is a founding member of NYLAG's associate board and has assisted NYLAG in representing individual and non-profit clients (including NYLAG itself) pro bono in a variety of matters since 2006.

Founded in 1990, the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) is a not-for-profit law office that provides free civil legal services to low-income New Yorkers through its own staff attorneys as well as hundreds of volunteers at firms throughout the city. NYLAG benefits from the contributions of hundreds of pro bono attorneys and volunteers who donate their time to help victims of domestic violence escape their abusers, seniors get the healthcare services they need, hungry children receive food assistance, immigrant families obtain legal status, and thousands of other low-income New Yorkers gain access to justice.
