Asian Venture Capital Journal (AVCJ) has
recognized Morgan Stanley's investment in Tianhe Chemicals Group as
its "Private Equity Deal of the Year." Tianhe is China's largest
producer of lubricant-oil additives and a leading producer of
speciality fluorochemicals. The strategic partnership between
Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia (MSPEA) and Tianhe is intended
to transition Tianhe from a domestic leader to a global player in
speciality chemicals. Paul, Weiss advised MSPEA as international
counsel on their largest investment to date.
The AVCJ Private Equity and Venture Capital Awards
program is a centerpiece of the annual AVCJ Private Equity
and Venture Forum, Asia's premier private equity industry event of
the year. The event draws thousands of delegates from around the
world.
The Paul, Weiss team was led by corporate partner John Lange. The
U.S. partners advising on the deal included corporate partner Yvonne
Chan; international trade counsel Richard Elliott; litigation partner
Mark
Mendelsohn; and tax partners Jeffrey Samuels and David Mayo.
