Orix USA Asset Management "Seed & Stake" of New Health Capital Partners
Paul, Weiss represented ORIX USA Asset Management in its "Seed & Stake" of New Health Capital Partners (NHCP), a new alternative investment manager founded to make private equity-style investments in health care and life sciences portfolio companies. The investment provides Orix with a unique opportunity to invest in the industry and demonstrates its commitment to the global asset management industry. The fund will invest in senior secured loans, majority equity stakes and other forms of structured financing. ORIX committed $150 million to NHCP funds in connection with this transaction, and received an ownership stake in NHCP as part of its investment.
