Attached is the November issue of Paul, Weiss's M&A at a
Glance publication. Although September showed some weakening
in the M&A market, October rebounded strongly, as global and
U.S. M&A deal volume, number of deals and average size of
deals all increased. In fact, October had the highest total
deal volume, number of deals and average deal size both in the U.S.
and globally since our M&A at a Glance publication began in
April of this year. Deal volume, number of deals and average
deal size generally increased in our tracked sectors of strategic,
sponsor-related and crossborder transactions, except for a small
dip in the number of sponsor-related deals. See Figure
1. We also note that there was a significant increase in the
proportion of deals using cash and stock as merger consideration,
up to 40% of October deals, as opposed to 8.6% of deals over the
last 12 months. See Figure 8.
