General Atlantic Investment in Asian Genco Recognized at IFLR India Awards

The International Financial Law Review (IFLR) has named the 2010 Asian Genco transaction, in which Paul, Weiss client General Atlantic participated in a $425 million investment by a consortium including Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and Goldman Sachs, as "Private Equity Deal of the Year" at their India Awards program. The goal of the transaction was to make Asian Genco Pte Ltd (AGPL), an infrastructure company developing major power generation assets in India, one of the leading power generation platforms in India. This new infusion of capital will enable AGPL to complete its current pipeline of projects and develop new power plants. The Paul, Weiss team advising General Atlantic included corporate partners John E. Lange, Matthew W. Abbott and Dale M. Sarro, tax partner Richard J. Bronstein, and corporate counsel Hans-Günther Herrmann.
