Paul, Weiss advised General Atlantic in the $3.8 billion asset
management acquisition of ING Group's Latin American pension and
wealth management business, which closed on December 29, 2011.
General Atlantic was part of a consortium of investors that
included Grupo Sura, a large publicly traded Colombian conglomerate
that led the deal, Grupo Bolivar, Banco Colombia and IFC. The
transactions will result in the creation of the largest pension
fund player in Latin America with one of the most important
insurance and investment operations in the region.
