EXPERIENCE

Aaron's current and recent representations include:

• The special committee of the board of directors of an international gaming company in an investigation of potential improper payments to foreign officials in multiple countries;
• The special committee of the board of directors of a resource company in connection with an internal investigation into FCPA and sanctions issues;
• 21st Century Fox in investigations concerning Roger Ailes, Bill O’Reilly and other related matters;
• A town in connection with a criminal investigation into the awarding of key government contracts;
• An investment professional in connection with criminal and SEC investigations;
• An international insurance company at pre-trial and trial in New York Supreme Court;
• A major retail organization in connection with an internal investigation into FCPA issues;
• A Japanese executive in connection with an investigation by the DOJ's Antitrust Division;
• Two leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in connection with civil and criminal investigations into off-label marketing practices;
• Several financial services companies in connection with DOJ and SEC investigations;
• Various financial services companies in connection with securities fraud, RMBS and CDO litigation, breach of contract, and fraud and fraudulent transfer claims;
• A class of music publishers in one of the largest copyright settlements in history in connection with litigation over the Napster file sharing service; and
• Music publishers in a trial over royalty fees under Section 115 of the Copyright Act.

Aaron also has an active pro bono practice focusing on civil rights matters. As part of his practice, he is currently co-counsel with the Center for Reproductive Rights representing the last abortion clinic in Mississippi, and is also acting as co-counsel with the Innocence Project for a wrongfully convicted client in Louisiana. His past work includes first chairing a trial in federal court where he won a significant result for a client, including punitive damages, in an employment discrimination case.

While in law school, Aaron served as senior editor of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review and was also a member of student government and the International Human Rights Clinic. From 1998-2001 he served as political staff in the British Columbia government, handling media relations, legislative strategy and policy issues, including for the Minister of Children and Families and the Minister of the Environment.

Aaron is on the Board of Trustees of the Montclair Cooperative School. He is also a member of the New York City Bar Association.
