Of counsel in the Litigation Department, Moses Silverman has a diverse practice with significant experience in antitrust litigation, securities litigation, corporate and derivative litigation, bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation, international and domestic arbitration, investigations and immigration.

EXPERIENCE

Over his career at the firm, Moses has:

  • successfully tried cases involving complex commercial disputes, antitrust law, bankruptcy law, copyright law and employment issues;
  • successfully argued appeals involving antitrust, securities, bankruptcy, professional responsibility, arbitration, patent and corporate law;
  • defeated class certification in securities and antitrust cases;
  • defended clients in civil and criminal investigations involving antitrust and securities law;
  • represented board committees in independent investigations and conducted independent investigations;
  • represented clients in international arbitration and litigation in Europe, Asia, South America and North America;
  • litigated the first "fast-track" arbitration under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce;
  • counseled clients on antitrust matters and negotiated mergers and acquisitions with the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice, including responding to "second requests;"
  • represented pro bono clients in large issue/impact cases, including cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, and in individual criminal and civil cases; and 
  • assisted asylum seekers, mostly mothers and their children, in immigration detention facilities in Texas and New Mexico.

Moses has served on the boards of Colby College, Central Synagogue, The Legal Aid Society and other not-for-profit organizations and is a member of the London Court of International Arbitration Company. He has been selected for antitrust, commercial litigation and international arbitration in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal. He serves as a Special Master appointed by the Appellate Divisions of New York Supreme Court, First and Second Departments.

Moses served as Research Editor of The New York University Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif and received the Pomeroy Prize. Prior to law school, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Istanbul, Turkey.
