SEC Adopts Final Mine Safety Disclosure Rules

On December 21, 2011, the Securities and Exchange Commission adopted amendments to their rules implementing Section 1503 of Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which requires SEC reporting companies that are operators of mines in the United States to disclose information relating to mine health and safety violations and mining-related fatalities.
