Training Program Highlights

Lawyers, from day one, work alongside their more experienced colleagues in a collaborative manner to assist the firm’s clients in their most complex, high-profile and bet-the-company matters.

First and Second Years:
  • Week-long orientation kicks off a mandatory two-year curriculum for all new associates
  • Training in substantive, practice-focused topics as well as lawyering skills
  • Every associate is assigned an associate and a partner mentor
  • Corporate unassigned program allows you to sample all of our M&A, Finance, Capital Markets & Securities, Intellectual Property Transactions, Private Equity and Private Funds practices
  • Litigation Associates participate in drafting litigation documents and brief writing, document review and e-discovery
  • Associates in Bankruptcy & Corporate Reorganization and other transactional departments have specific departmental curricula in addition to selected sessions of corporate and litigation curricula
  • Basic financial literacy training
  • Professional skills such as client service, managing across differences, time management and professional responsibility
  • Introductory Pro Bono training, including the ethics of representation, overview of opportunities and subject matter-specific training
Midlevel Associates:
  • Midlevel Associate Conference focuses on transition to the next stage of your career
  • Managing Effectively Across Difference workshops to strengthen inclusive management skills
  • Trainings on making the transition, managing from the middle, firm economics, client relations and career development
  • Litigation associates participate in deposition, oral argument and trial examination workshops
  • Advanced financial literacy training targeting specific practice areas
  • Participation in regular departmental and practice group update
All Levels:
  • Access to oral presentation skills and writing skills training throughout your career
  • Participating in regular departmental and practice group updates
  • Direct mentorship from Pro Bono team and supervision by partners on pro bono matters
  • Access to a wealth of CLE programs, including online and video courses and programs offered by organizations with whom we partner
