Description of Program and Relief

Early Prescription Refills for Medicaid Recipients

In light of COVID-19, Alaska has relaxed its eligibility requirements for early prescription refills to ensure that Medicaid beneficiaries have sufficient on-hand supply of medicine. 30-day prescriptions will allow a refill when the beneficiary has two weeks of medication on-hand. 90-day prescriptions will allow a refill when a beneficiary has three weeks of medication on-hand. 30-day opioid prescriptions will allow a refill when beneficiaries have seven days of medication on-hand.
