Description of Program and Relief

Short Term Crisis Services

The Short-Term Crisis Services (“STCS”) Program provides temporary assistance to low-income families experiencing an emergency need for assistance due to an immediate financial crisis. A crisis for purposes of the STCS Program includes a loss of income. Emergency assistance includes mortgage or rent assistance, emergency shelter, utility payments, special needs related to maintaining or securing employment, and rental deposits. While no specific guidance has been provided for those affected by COVID-19, families adversely impacted by COVID-19 should be eligible if they meet general eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

An applicant must be a resident of Arizona who lives with a child under the age of 18 that is a U.S. citizen or a qualified legal resident. The total gross household income may not exceed 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, unless the household includes one or more senior citizens or persons with disabilities.
