COVID-19 Guidelines for Health Insurers

The Colorado Division of Insurance is directing carriers to remove cost sharing on specific services related to COVID-19. These services include: 1) COVID-19-related in-network telehealth services; 2) an additional one-time early refill of any necessary prescriptions, to which a different cost-sharing amount shall not be applied; 3) testing for COVID-19; and 4) any in-network provider office visit, in-network urgent care center visit, or emergency room visit in which a covered person is seeking testing for COVID-19. If an in-network provider is unable to conduct testing for COVID-19, carriers must cover such testing if performed by an outof-network provider.
