Moratorium on Non-Residential Evictions

In light of the spread of COVID-19, the Illinois Governor has ordered that all state, county, and local law enforcement officers must cease enforcement of orders of eviction for non-residential premises.

Effective immediately, through duration of Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

This order does not apply if the tenant has been found to pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other tenants, an immediate and severe risk to property, or a violation of any applicable building code, health ordinance, or similar regulation. Note that this order does not relieve anyone of the obligation to make their rent payments, or comply with any other lease obligation.
