Dave Curran Quoted in WSJ Article on New International Standards For Corporate Governance

Chief Sustainability and ESG Officer Dave Curran was quoted in a Wall Street Journal article, “International Standard Setter Wades Into Corporate-Governance Debate.” The article discusses the Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization’s recently released framework for good governance. The ISO’s governance benchmark reflects a consensus-driven process involving over 70 countries.

While most public companies and large multinationals in the U.S. already have sophisticated governance structures, the ISO framework could be helpful for smaller companies that may need to catch up with best practices. “You can have all the aspirations and targets and goals you want but in order to make something work at an organization of any size and complexity, you need governance mechanisms,” Dave said. “No company does anything without a policy and procedure.”
