Paul, Weiss Adds Experienced Compliance Counsel to FCPA Practice

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that Peter Jaffe has joined the firm as counsel in its Washington, D.C. office, expanding the firm's deep bench of skilled United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) practitioners and its global anti-corruption capabilities. Peter will serve as a deputy chair of the firm's Anti-Corruption and FCPA practice group, focusing on counseling, design and implementation of compliance programs, M&A diligence and transactional matters.

Paul, Weiss represents clients in anti-corruption and FCPA investigations, designing compliance programs and transactional anti-corruption diligence, as well as responding to and defending against government investigations and related litigation. The team includes former senior government officials who provide unique insight into how these cases are brought in the U.S. and globally.

As Chief Compliance Officer of a major U.S. energy company, Mr. Jaffe has extensive experience developing and implementing a global anti-corruption compliance program, overseeing a global team of compliance professionals, and leading anti-corruption due diligence on major M&A transactions and foreign investments in high-risk countries. Previously, Mr. Jaffe represented clients before the United States Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other U.S. and foreign regulatory regulators and agencies, and he previously served for many years as a federal prosecutor and counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
