Yahonnes Cleary Profiled in Choate’s Bulletin Magazine

November 5, 2021

Litigation partner Yahonnes Cleary was profiled in Choate Rosemary Hall’s most recent issue of Bulletin magazine, the school’s official publication. The article, “Pushing the Dream Forward,” details Yahonnes’ journey from the Bronx to Choate, Columbia College, Oxford University and Yale Law School, and to partnership at Paul, Weiss.

The profile focuses on Yahonnes’ participation in Prep for Prep, a New York City-based academic and leadership development program for minority students, and describes how Prep for Prep prepared him for a successful academic and professional career. Yahonnes spoke about Prep for Prep’s rigorous coursework and the lasting friendships he developed through the program. He also discusses his transition from public service to a career in private practice, his pro bono work at Paul, Weiss, and recently becoming co-president of Prep for Prep’s board.

“I’m amazed that more than 40 years after Prep was founded, its mission is as critical as ever. We’ve had so many shared experiences recently that demonstrate the critical need for developing talented, diverse, ethical leaders across all sectors of society. That is fundamentally what Prep for Prep does, and really what I think Choate aims to do as well,” he says.
