Litigation partners Andrew Finch and Nicholas Groombridge participated in the 63rd Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference. Andrew’s panel, “Antitrust & IP: Does It Need to Be Retooled?” discussed refusal to license; whether and how national courts should address “global” licensing disputes; AI and competition; platforms, competition and the role of data; “pay for delay” in the pharma sector; and other topics. Nicholas moderated a panel on “The State of Patent Law & Policy: Views From the Top,” which covered current U.S. and international patent issues, including subject matter eligibility, proposed legislation, USPTO operations and extra-territoriality. The conference took place on November 1 in Chicago.
