Paul, Weiss Secures Unemployment Insurance Victory for Pro Bono Client

Paul, Weiss won a victory for our pro bono client reversing an earlier interim decision that had rendered her ineligible to receive unemployment insurance benefits after she was fired due to alleged misconduct.

In a hearing before a New York Administrative Law Judge, litigation associate Hannah Blonshteyn successfully argued that our client did not commit the alleged safety violation at issue in her dismissal and that she therefore was not fired for misconduct. Litigation association Victor Liu also successfully noted in his closing statement that a prior warning our client received was not sufficient notice under the law.
