Advocacy for Legal Services

Paul, Weiss plays a leading role in the legal industry in public campaigns of national importance.

In 2017, the firm helped organize a national campaign, ultimately including more than 150 law firms representing all 50 states, to prevent the elimination of the federal budget for the Legal Services Corporation, which provides free civil legal aid services to the poor, as well as supporting law firms’ pro bono efforts to provide direct legal services to those in need. Thanks to this effort, the proposed cuts were not included in the budget adopted in 2017, but the coalition’s efforts to preserve funding for legal services continues.
