Paul, Weiss Honored at Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence Event

The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence honored Paul, Weiss on June 27 with its Richard W. Odgers Pro Bono Partner Award. The firm was recognized for its role last year in creating the Firearms Accountability Task Force (FACT), a new partnership between the private bar and the gun violence prevention movement. Also honored were former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and grassroots advocates Pam and Tom Bosley, whose son, Terrell Bosley, was shot and killed after band practice outside his church on the south side of Chicago in 2006. The awards ceremony took place at the Law Center’s 24th anniversary dinner in San Francisco.
Founded in 1993, the Law Center is active in 50 states and the District of Columbia. The nonprofit produces detailed gun violence prevention research and analysis, files amicus briefs in Second Amendment cases across the country and works with lawmakers and advocates to craft and promote legislation to reduce gun violence.
Firm chair Brad Karp and litigation partner Christopher Boehning attended the dinner and were joined by firm alumni Robert Harmon, Jr., Damien Kieran, Sandee Sheldon, Tammy Wang and Shulamite (Shen) White.
