Paul, Weiss Shortlisted for Seven ALB Japan Law Awards

Paul, Weiss was shortlisted in seven categories by Asian Legal Business, a publication of Thomson Reuters, as part of the 2017 ALB Japan Law Awards.
The firm was shortlisted in the following categories: “Debt Market Deal of the Year” for our role in advising Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s TLAC Bond Issuance and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s senior notes offering; “M&A Deal of the Year: Premium” for our work in advising Yokohama’s $1.2 billion acquisition of Alliance Tire Group; and “M&A Deal of the Year: Midsize” for our role in advising Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in its $736 million acquisition of Sagent Pharmaceuticals. The firm was also shortlisted for “International Deal Firm of the Year” and “Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year.” In addition, corporate partner Tong Yu was named a finalist for “Dealmaker of the Year" and corporate partner Kaye Yoshino was named a finalist for “Woman Lawyer of the Year.”
The winners of the ALB Japan Law Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton on June 7 in Tokyo.
