Paul, Weiss securities partner David S. Huntington and securities litigation partners Daniel J. Kramer and Richard A. Rosen authored an article that discusses the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, which President Obama signed into law on April 4, 2012. The authors write that the STOCK Act, which is aimed at curbing insider trading by federal government officials, gives rise to major uncertainties about the breadth, scope, and duration of trading bans by which covered parties and those who communicate with them must abide.
