Description of Program and Relief

Electric Utility Relief Package

Governor Ducey announced a cooperative agreement with the state’s largest electric utilities to continue to provide reliable electricity to homes, hospitals, and businesses during the COVID-19 crisis. Pursuant to the cooperative agreement, Arizona Public Service, Salt River Project, and Tucson Electric Power have agreed to the following:

  • No residential customer will lose power due to inability to pay;

  • No penalties, late fees, or interest will be assessed;

  • The utility companies will work with customers to provide flexible options for payment;

  • Customers will be permitted to switch utility plans, if they chose a plan under circumstances which no longer apply.
