Description of Program and Relief

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) allows employees of covered employers to take unpaid leave for family or health. Employees of such employers may take unpaid leave if they are sick, if they must care for sick family, or if they believe they have been exposed to COVID-19, for the duration of the incubation period (currently thought to be 14 days).

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Employees must work for a covered employer, have worked there for at least 12 months, have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12 months prior to the start of FMLA leave, and work at a location where the employer has at least 50 employees within 75 miles.
