Description of Program and Relief

Resumption of Certain Elective Surgeries and Procedures

On April 24, 2020, the Governor of Iowa announced that hospitals, outpatient surgery providers, or outpatient procedure providers may now conduct either (i) in-patient surgeries and procedures that, if further delayed, would pose a significant risk to quality of life, as well as (ii) any outpatient surgeries or procedures so long as the hospital or provider complies with several requirements announced by the Governor. Other than as expressly allowed by the Governor’s order, nonessential or elective surgeries and procedures remain prohibited. Businesses should check for any additional city or county restrictions.
