Notice of Extension of Expiration Dates for DMV-Issued Documents Expiring Between March 12, 2020 and July 15, 2020
In light of COVID-19, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles have issued an automatic extension for certain driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations, and other DMV documents. Any such licenses that would have expired between March 12, 2020 and July 15, 2020 shall be valid until September 13, 2020.

Effective immediately for qualifying documents through September 13, 2020.
Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
Available for any DMV document that has an expiration date between March 12, 2020 and July 15, 2020, but this does not apply to vehicle liability insurance or SR-22 requirements, and motorists must maintain insurance coverage. The extension does not apply to documents that expired before March 12, 2020, or after July 15, 2020. The extension applies to all types of driver’s licenses and ID cards, vehicle registrations and movement permits, DMV business licenses, and Motor Carrier credentials. Where possible, DMV customers are strongly encouraged to renew said licenses, permits, cards and other DMV credentials through DMV's website, portal, or kiosks to the greatest extent practicable.
