Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation
In this highly technical area, our group is widely known for their inventive and practical approach to solving problems and resolving business issues. Our team provides advice in connection with high-profile, multi-billion dollar M&A transactions, public proxy statements, compensation arrangements and ERISA fiduciary matters for investment funds and plan fiduciaries.
Andrew Gaines will be co-chairing a two day PLI program which will provide a broad survey of issues that an ERISA practitioner would encounter in the practice. Employee benefits partner Robert Fleder will present a panel at the seminar entitled, "Types of Qualified Plans," and will discuss the various types of tax qualified plans, highlight the distinctions between broad categories of plans such as defined contribution versus defined benefit, ESOPs and other hybrid arrangements and review some of the basic qualification rules applicable to each. In addition to chairing the program, Andrew will participate in a panel entitled, "ERISA in the Headlines," and will discuss legislative developments, regulatory developments and important litigation in the area. The event will take place August 5 - 6 in New York.
