Viking Global Investors to Back Rockefeller Capital Management

Rockefeller Financial Services, Inc., the parent company of Rockefeller & co., and Gregory J. Fleming have agreed to form Rockefeller Capital Management, an independent financial services firm focused on wealth management, asset management and strategic advisory. Paul, Weiss is advising Viking Global Investors LP in its investment in the new firm via one of its investment funds. Under the terms of the venture, expected to closed in the first quarter of 2018, Rockefeller will be co-owned by a Viking investment fund, a trust representing the broader Rockefeller family, and the firm’s management. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
