Corporate partner Krishna Veeraraghavan shared insights with the Wall Street Journal on the reasons behind a slowdown in M&A deals, particularly European-sided deals. In “Some Companies Put M&A on Hold Amid Russian War on Ukraine,” published on April 1, Krishna notes that the delay is caused in part by concerns about rising commodity prices, and in part by the impact of stock market volatility on deal valuations. “For those types of deals, you are seeing the counterparties taking a step back and just waiting for the waters to calm down,” Krishna says.
