Attached is the August issue of Paul, Weiss's M&A at a Glance publication. While the number of deals declined in July compared to June, U.S. M&A deal volume and average deal value actually increased, with financial sponsors being significantly more active in the market than strategic buyers. (See Figure 1) In keeping with the quiet strategic sector, we also note that July was the second straight month with no hostile activity. (See Figure 11)
