In this month’s M&A At a Glance, we review the most significant trends in M&A activity for the month of June. June activity decreased from May, falling 3.5% in volume and 5.8% in deal count.  Despite an increase in U.S strategic-related activity by dollar value, strategic and sponsor-related activity both generally declined globally and in the U.S.; this general downward trend was more pronounced in the U.S., with 21% fewer deals than in May. Among other highlights: U.S. outbound activity nearly doubled (+95.8% in volume), while inbound activity dropped by 44.8% in volume and 6.8% in deal count. Retail was the most active target industry by dollar value, and computers/ electronics the most active in number of deals.
