In this month’s M&A at a Glance, we review the most significant trends in M&A activity for the month of August. Global deal volume decreased by 4% in total value, while deal count decreased by 5.6%. Cross-border volume dropped by nearly half to a 12-month low. But the U.S. remained a bright spot, with deal volume increasing by 38.1% and deal count increasing by 12.8%, with notable surges in both strategic and sponsor-related activity. Among other highlights: the U.K. maintained its position as the leader in outbound activity over the past year.
