An associate in the Litigation Department, Marissa Doran specializes in complex civil litigation, trial practice, regulatory defense and internal investigations. Marissa has litigated a wide range of complex civil matters, including in litigations involving contractual disputes; mergers and acquisitions; claims of fraud and breach of duty; employment discrimination, retaliation, and harassment; carriage, unfair competition, trademark, and patent infringement; and securities and shareholder disputes. She has represented public and privately held companies, as well as individuals, in court and before the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Attorney’s office, the Securities & Exchange Commission, FINRA, and other federal, state and local law enforcement and regulatory authorities.

Marissa has substantial trial experience, including representing leading financial institutions, media and technology companies, and biotech companies in high-stakes trials, arbitrations, hearings and mediations. She has advised financial institutions, media companies, and other public and privately-held entities in high-profile, high-stakes federal and state criminal and civil regulatory and internal investigations.

Marissa maintains an active pro bono practice, and has worked on matters with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Brooklyn Defender Services, Sanctuary for Families and the Innocence Project. She represented a prisoner in connection with abuse claims; tried a separate case involving allegations of international child abduction to verdict; and successfully argued an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Prior to joining the firm, Marissa served on the Majority Professional Staff of Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives and with several political organizations and campaigns. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Association of American Rhodes Scholars and was an editor of the Yale Law Journal.
